India-Pak War Tension

National News: In view of the possible war situation with Pakistan, the central government has started taking extensive steps to prepare the public. The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed all states to organize a mock drill of Civil Defense (Civil Defense) on Wednesday.

Also, to warn of air strikes in cities, it has been asked to activate the siren system and install new sirens where needed. Instructions have also been given to provide special training to the common people to safe places and teach the right behavior in emergency.

The role of civil defense is important

According to sources, in a situation like war, civil defense plays a major role in transporting citizens to safe places, maintaining the supply of essential items and dealing with the disaster. Its preparations will be tested and strengthened through mock drills.

Siren system review

Since the 1971 war, there was no regular check -up of the siren system over the situation of an airstrike. Now all states have been instructed to review the existing system and install a new system where needed.

Blackout and essential services be prepared

In the event of an airstrike, blackout (stopping power supply) is a normal process so that the enemy does not get any target. In such a situation, the officials of the electricity department have been asked to be vigilant and take immediate action.

Practice done in Punjab

A blackout practice was recently conducted in Ferozepur Cantt area of Punjab, in which the lights of the entire area were closed from 9 to 9:30 pm. During this time the police was deployed and strictly following the rules. The Ministry of Home Affairs has asked all the states to plan and practice to take the general public to safe places, so that the loss of life and property in any emergency is minimized.
